1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Pace Builder, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

2. Service Description

Pace Builder is an AI-powered running coach that provides personalized training plans, workout tracking, and coaching via chat. The service is currently offered as a free beta.

3. Account

To use Pace Builder you must meet the following requirements and agree to the following conditions:

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • A Google OAuth login is required to access the service.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
  • Each person may maintain only one account.

4. Beta Service

Pace Builder is currently in beta. Please be aware of the following:

  • The service is free during the beta period.
  • Features, functionality, and interfaces may change without prior notice.
  • We do not guarantee uptime, availability, or uninterrupted access.
  • Beta users will receive a lifetime discount when paid plans are introduced.

5. Health Disclaimer

This section is especially important. Please read it carefully.

Pace Builder provides AI-generated training advice. It does NOT provide medical advice. The AI coach is not a substitute for professional medical or athletic guidance.

  • Always consult a physician or qualified healthcare provider before starting any training program.
  • Stop exercising immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, or discomfort.
  • We are not liable for any injuries or health complications resulting from following AI-generated recommendations.
  • Training plans are generated by artificial intelligence and may not account for every individual health condition.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of your workout data and chat messages. By using the service:

  • You grant Pace Builder a limited license to process your data solely to provide and improve the service.
  • We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our algorithms and the overall service experience.

7. Acceptable Use

When using Pace Builder, you agree not to:

  • Abuse the AI coach through spam, harmful prompts, or any form of misuse.
  • Attempt to extract training data, reverse-engineer, or otherwise exploit the underlying AI system.
  • Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.

8. Intellectual Property

The Pace Builder brand, design, and source code are the exclusive property of Pace Builder and its licensors. Training plans generated for you are provided for your personal, non-commercial use only and may not be redistributed or resold.

9. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
  • Our maximum aggregate liability is limited to the total amount you have paid us, which during the beta period is $0.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account. Before account deletion, you will have the opportunity to export your data.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Pace Builder after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
